How to Write a LinkedIn Profile that Piques eTailer Interest

By Darren Pierce on Sep 26, 2013 6:00:00 AM

LinkedIn is one of the most important tools that inside salespeople can use to connect with and meet etailers.

In order to get the edge over the competition, it is essential to have a profile that stands out from the rest.

What is the key to doing this? Here are a couple of tips.

Edit your URL

Business expert Ken Krogue stresses the importance of editing your profile’s URL so that it ends with either your name or the name of your company.

If you fail to do this and leave the URL that LinkedIn automatically generates for you in place, there will be extra characters and numbers that could lead to confusion.

It will also indicate that you have not spent much time perfecting your page.

Add A Custom Banner

You can add a custom banner to your page for free, which will catch online retailers’ attention and funnel them to your website.

This will provide them with an easy means of finding out more information about the products or services that you are offering.

‘About Us’ Section

Ensure that you make the ‘About Us’ section of your profile as compelling as possible.

Describe your business in a way that makes it sound appealing and exciting.

Forbes advises that you should also include keywords so that your profile appears in relevant searches.

Striking Cover Image

It is important to choose a cover image that is visually striking.

This will encourage online retailers to look at the rest of your profile. It will pique their interest and cause them to pay closer attention to the information that is included on your page.

The ‘About Us’ section is hidden away at the bottom of your profile so include a short message within the cover image that describes what you do, as it will be the first thing that etailers see.
