Power User Spotlight: Eddie Cmehil, Malomo
Eddie's Hack: Be relevant in your outreach
Something we try to do at Malomo is not just get personalized, but remain relevant. eCommerce is an ever-changing industry and the marketers we're talking to are constantly being thrown new channels, ways to reach customers, etc. To stick out, we've seen that we need to do proper research into what matters to the individual we are reaching out to and be as specific as possible as to how we might be able to help them. Figuring out what other technologies they use that we could work with is one way we stay very relevant.
etailinsights Power User Interview
Eddie, what is your favorite restaurant in Indianapolis? And, why?
My favorite restaurant in Indy is La Hacienda. My family loves going there together (one of the few spots that can comfortably seat 13 people!), so we always have a good time there.
What drove you to begin a sales career in eCommerce?
Growing up playing sports, I've always been driven by competition. Sales provides a similar outlet for me. Figuring out new "plays", having routines, and leveling up through practice are things I've been doing for years, so it's been incredible to hop into sales and be able to have that same mindset!
How does Malomo help etailers?
How are you using etailinsights to find eCommerce leads?
Our sales team is using etailinsights to source eCommerce leads in a few ways. The first is prospecting. Our outbound process is built on the ability to determine what technologies the etailer is using, so we can describe to the prospect how we might be able to fit into their marketing stack. Etailinsights allows us to determine easily what eCommerce platform or ESP they are using, as well as determine what their shipment volume might be. Being a shipment tracking platform, that helps immensely! The second is to better understand inbound leads that come through our website. Getting key information into those accounts as they come in helps us in those early conversations as etailers show interest in Malomo.
What is your favorite Top 40 eCommerce Conference and why?
Klaviyo:BOS by far! Klaviyo's conference didn't even feel like a conference. It felt more like just hanging out with a bunch of close friends learning about email marketing and eCommerce (and the food was so good).
