John, what is your favorite restaurant and why?
Parc in Rittenhouse Square, a Stephen Starr gem that in the spring and summer months is amazing because you can sit outside and people watch. It’s not only the first place I met my wife, but they have incredible ambiance, an amazing cocktail list, coupled with a delicious menu. This is certainly one of my favorites and a place we go to a few times a year (especially for nostalgia sake).
What drove you to begin a sales career in eCommerce?
I have been in sales and management for about 15 years, but eCommerce is just such a relevant and exciting space. I really enjoy being on the front lines with the customer and helping them with their strategic direction and understanding of how to better their business. Demonstrating how the Clutch platform can change and better a potential client's business is very rewarding.
How does Clutch help etailers?
We transform the way B2C companies engage, understand, and motivate their core customers. We aggregate consumer data from existing POS, CRM, ERP, and ESP platforms and give brands the ability to target their customers with data-driven and personalized offerings, which grows brand loyalty and drives a strong ROI for marketing teams and executives. This effects all departments, as it gives key details and insights around their business that they never had before using our platform.
How are you using etailinsights to source eCommerce Leads or build a Directory of Online Retailers?
We use etailinsights on a daily basis for a variety of reasons. Most importantly, it gives the most up-to-date information of what stakeholders of large firms are currently in position for a specific and targeted message. From a technology perspective, etailinsights does an excellent job of a "quick search" by gross revenue, technology platform, vertical, or list building. The ease of downloading master lists into simple CSV formatted documents to share with the sales and marketing team is paramount for success.
What is your favorite Top 40 eCommerce Conference and why?
NRF has been a staple for me for years...but this year we’re sponsoring eTail, so I’m really excited for that conference and it’s eCommerce focus. It draws a really great crowd, and the agenda is always really interesting. So look for us there as your hosts for the Tiki Lounge on night one, and come visit our booth throughout the event. Hopefully I can see everyone in February!
