7. How To Work Together With The Merchandising Department
It would seem that the merchandising team would be important to an eTailer’s business. But with all the discussion in the marketing world about channels, it’s easy to forget about merchandising.
The CMO and the marketing team often find themselves at odds with merchandising.
If you have a product or solution that can help these two departments work together to generate new sales and profit you’ll have the CMO and the head of merchandising on your side.
8. Time Management
These last two points are going to be a little different, but they are no less important than the first pain points listed on the list.
CMOs are busier than ever. All the things we’ve been discussing add up to make for busy days and busy nights. CMOs are often in meetings discussing budgets, new projects, and all kinds of other things.
Any vendor that can provide time management tools to help in this regard will be able to win over the CMO and help him or her perform well with all of today’s stress.
9. People Management
CMOs are also struggling to find ways to manage all the people they’re hiring on their staff. The CMOs are smart. They got to their position for a reason. They know how to work with people.
But there are new people in new jobs such as Social Media Manager and Content Marketing Manager.
If you have the ability to make this aspect of the job easier you’ll find CMOs more than willing to listen to what you have to say.
