You’ve probably heard it a million times from your mom, but make your bed every morning. It really does set the tone for your day, and it keeps you organized which leads to better time management skills. Additionally, write down your goals for the day, first thing or the night before. Put your long term and short term goals on there, visit them daily, and adjust what you’re doing to align yourself with your goals. Act with a sense of urgency and enjoyment- it will show through when you connect with people. Use your time wisely and call when people are most likely to answer their phones (later in the day works best for me). Calling is not dead and is a great tool to use in conjunction with emailing, etc. Be persistent, professional, ask questions, ask for referrals, expand and use your network.

Ann, what is your favorite restaurant in San Diego, and why?

I love Jeune et Joile in northern San Diego county. French is my favorite cuisine (my Italian relatives are now cringing), and the chef creates these wonderful modern French dishes that are not only delicious, but presented in a way that makes it a memorable dining experience.

What drove you to begin a sales career in eCommerce?

Early in my career, I managed retail stores. After getting into selling software, the transition to eCommerce (as consumers were buying more online) just seemed like a natural fit and a great movement to be a part of. It doesn’t hurt that I also love fashion and shopping.

How are you using etailinsights to find eCommerce leads?

I use etailinsights on a daily basis. With consistency, I look up and update leads to our CRM for target accounts in my territory. I like the e-relationship with etailinsights as it is reciprocal. I’ll find someone no longer there, alert them, they credit me, and I always receive new lead alerts back from them. Since our solution is tightly connected to other technologies, I can search on those and drive specific personalized campaigns based on the results. It also helps me pinpoint the top key C-suite executives and industries that fit best into our ideal customer profile. 

What is your favorite Top 40 eCommerce Conference  and why?

At this point it’s ShopTalk. Many brands and retailers around the globe attend this show which enables us to schedule several meetings at our booth and sign up for prescheduled “speed dates”. Along with some good marketing tactics and great booth locations, we also get lots of stop-by traffic. All and all, it’s a great show and people love coming to Vegas!
